Romulo Baquiran is a distinguished Filipino poet and Carlos Palanca award winner. He was awarded the Southeast Asian Writers (SEA Write) Award for poetry in 2011. An assistant professor at the University of the Philippines’ College of Arts and Letters, Baquiran is the author of Mga Tula Ng Paglusong (1982), Onyx (2003), the collection of essays Sagad sa Buto: Hospital Diary At Iba Pang Sanaysay (2010), and the poetry book Kung Nanaisin (2012) which won the National Book Award from the Manila Critics Circle.
