Ian Salvaña researches climate-induced migration and wrote the Philippine compendium on human mobility, climate change and gender under GIZ’s Global Programme Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change (HMCCC). A political scientist by training, he currently works at a regional human rights organization based in Bangkok. He is from Cateel—hard-hit by Typhoon Pablo (Bopha, 2012) in Mindanao —and currently lives in Davao.
