Felix Mago Miguel is an artist, designer, and illustrator who is happy living in Bohol, Philippines with his wife, Amel who is a writer and an editor, and their five children—Ulan, Ulap, Angin, Araw, and Langit—all of whom are also artistically inclined. A happy father and a great encourager, Felix draws much inspiration and encouragement from his family and the beautiful environment surrounding him.
A graduate of the Philippine Normal College and the Philippine High School for the Arts, Felix won in national painting and art competitions while studying Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. After finishing his course cum laude in 1992, he worked freelance as a designer and illustrator and soon became part of Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang InK), fellow artists who helped launch him into books and other print media. The last 25 years has seen him do commissioned works, print design projects, picture books, and design more than a hundred books for local and foreign publishers, some of which have been blessed with citations from the National Book Awards and the Gintong Aklat Awards. He has also been active conducting workshops, teaching design and illustrating for children’s books in the last three years. He is also looking forward to being active again in the art exhibition space.
