Alya B. Honasan is a veteran editor and writer based in Manila. She originally studied to become a doctor, but was sidetracked into journalism. She has since worked for several publications, including the Manila Chronicle and ABS-CBN Publishing’s Metro Magazine, and was editor of the Sunday Inquirer Magazine for seven years. She has written for and edited over 25 books, is a consulting desk editor with the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Lifestyle section, and does freelance work for various publications and NGOs, with a focus on environmental and animal welfare issues. Honasan is also a certified Iyengar yoga teacher, an occasional stage actor, and a loving mom to her dog, an asPin named Kikay.
