MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Agam Agenda’s anthology Harvest Moon: Poems and Stories from the Edge of the Climate Crisis makes two appearances at this year’s Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), taking place at the SMX Convention Center Manila, this September 2022.

The Manila International Book Fair is the biggest and longest-running books and publishing fair in the Philippines. This year’s book fair also marks the return of MIBF as an in-person gathering of Filipino readers, writers, publishers, artists, and storytellers.

Harvest Moon is an anthology of more than 30 images and over 30 poems, stories, and essays about the climate crisis from writers, photographers, and artists in Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and Latin America. The narratives and photographs in the book span 24 countries and 11 languages. Contributors include Shirley Campbell Barr, Vinai Dithajohn, Marjorie Evasco, Luisa A. Igloria, Kathy Jetñil-Kijiner, Fiston Mwanza Mujila, Leonardo Padura, Malebo Sephodi, and Rebecca Solnit.

Introducing the narratives found in Harvest Moon are Padmapani L. Perez, Lead Strategist for Creative Collaboration at the Agam Agenda, and Drum Circle PH led by Jayson Gidore, who invite you to drum, pause, and confront the shared experience of climate change through literature and the arts.

Panel: September 17, 2022, 2:00 PM @ Meeting Room 5, SMX Convention Center Manila

Agam Agenda will also host a panel discussion about climate science and eco-poetry on September 17, at 2:00 PM: a panel on climate change and the role of literature in bringing about kinder times for all. Joining the panel are trans-disciplinary artists and poets, and representatives from The Climate Reality Project Philippines and Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities.
